BOARD BRIEFS |
Dr. David Peterson presented the Governing Board with an update on the 2008-09 fiscal year budget. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
Dr. Jackie Olson, director of Curriculum, and Dr. Althe Allen, executive director of Secondary Education, presented to the Board recommended changes to the 2009-10 High School Planning Guide. The item will be brought back as an Action Item on the December 2 agenda. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
Clay McAllester, employee relations administrator; Dan Granger, president of SSPA; and Sharon Grant, administrative assistant for Professional Development, provided the Governing Board with an update on the status of the 2008-09 Classified Pay for Performance Plan and provided an indication of what the next steps will be to institute the plan. The item will be brought back as a Consent Agenda Item on the December 16 Agenda. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm.
In other action, the Governing Board:
- Approved the Proclamation for Support Staff Appreciation Week – November 17-21, 2008.
- Approved the increase of tuition fees for Kids Club and Pre-kindergarten as amended.
- Approved the adoption of Policy DGD – Credit Cards.
- Accepted gifts valued at $107,525. The gifts were received from Cheyenne PTO, DMHS PTO, Hopi PTA, Laguna PTO, Chaparral Diamond Backers, Saguaro Choir Boosters, Saguaro Sabercat Football Foundation, Azahperd Foundation, Don Chiappetti, Ford Motor Company, Dan Harkins, Michael Heimel, The Kiwanis Club of Scottsdale, Kelly Rao, Nicole Roberson, Max Ross Eagle Project, Scottsdale Chamber Foundation, Scottsdale Charros, Richard & Melody Simonic, Target, Wachovia Securities and Alexander Warschaw, .
The next regular Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on December 2 at the Education Center.
