In other action, the Governing Board:
- Approved the recommendation to reject the technology standards established by the Government Information Technology Agency (GITA), and instead direct staff to develop independent technology standards for presentation and adoption within one year in lieu of the GITA standards.
- Approved the District Goals for the 2007-2008 school year as amended.
- Approved the Superintendent’s Evaluation Instrument.
- Approved the Arizona School Boards Association (ASBA) 2008 Political Agenda Priorities.
- Accepted gifts valued at $41,260. The gifts were received from Sequoya APT, Zuni Community Association, Chaparral Football Foundation, Coronado Football Booster Club, Judy Cinello, DMAB Volleyball, Fred Petti Etal, Honeywell Hometown Solutions and Pinnacle Peak Lions Quest.
The next two regular Governing Board meetings are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. October 2 and November 13 at the Education Center. A Work/Study session is scheduled for 4 p.m. on September 25 at the Education Center.
