Scottsdale Unified School District Arizona’s Most Excelling Schools!

David Peterson, chief of business and facilities, and representatives from the contractors for the Arcadia and Coronado construction projects provided the Board with an update on the status of construction at each campus. A major amount of work has been completed this past year and a visual tour of the progress was presented.

In other action, the Board:

• Approved the final budget menu items for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
   
• Approved the award of bid for Sierra Vista Academy Phase II to Norquay Construction, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $3,334,235 for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
   
• Approved the Sierra Vista Kitchen Renovation change order to A & P Construction in the final amount of $469,336.
   
• Approved the change order for the Coronado construction manager at risk contract adjacent ways work required by the City of Scottsdale in the amount of $63,710.
   
• Approved the utility provider changes for Coronado High School reconstruction for $59,777.21.
   
• Accepted gifts valued at $146,196. The gifts were received from C.H.A.P.T.S., Cochise APT, Cocopah APT, Desert Canyon Elementary PTO, Friends of ANLC, Kiva PTO, Pima Student Council and PTO, Sequoya APT, Arizona Parent Teacher Association, Christopher Reeve Foundation, Salt River Project, Sam’s Club, Scottsdale Charros, and Scottsdale Heathcare.

The next regular Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m., Tuesday September 5, in the auditorium at Saguaro High School, 6250 N. 82nd St., Scottsdale.
