BOARD BRIEFS |
The Governing Board voted to adopt the 2006-2007 fiscal year proposed expenditure budget as presented at the June 20th Board meeting. The Governing Board is required by statute to adopt the fiscal budget each year by July 15th. There have been no changes to the proposed budget for the adoption. In other action, the Board:
- Approved the 2006 Emergency Response Crisis Management Program grant proposal for submission to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, in the amount of $379,291.
- Approved the 2006 Smaller Learning Communities Program grant proposal for submission to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Secondary Education in the amount of $4,125,000.
- Approved the IGA between the City of Scottsdale and SUSD for Enhanced Ball Field Maintenance.
- Gave permission to order relocatable buildings based on the approved 2006-2007 fiscal year M&O budget, which includes staffing projections that require additional relocatable classrooms.
- Accepted gifts valued at $244,315. The gifts were received from Cocopah Yearbook, Mohave Yearbook Club, Mountainside Band Boosters, Anasazi PTO, Cochise APT, Copper Ridge Elementary PTO, Friends of ANLC, Hopi PTA, Ingleside PTO, Kiva PTO, Laguna PTO, Mountainside PTO, Tavan PTA , Arcadia Pride Inc, Michael and Jamie Askins, Marna Bowling, Laurel D’Antoni, School Pop, Scottsdale Charros, Todd Smith, Washington Mutual, William Warner and Wells Fargo Foundation.
The next Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m., Tuesday August 15, at the Education Center, 3811 N. 44th St., Phoenix.
