The Governing Board voted unanimously on Tuesday night to adopt a resolution to renew the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) Override and to place a resolution for a Capital Override on the November 6, 2007 ballot. Dr. Ildiko Laczko-Kerr, executive director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, and Kim Lansdowne, director of gifted services, presented the District’s Gifted Program offerings for the 2007-08 school year to the Governing Board. Specifically, the presentation provided detailed information required by the Arizona Department of Education in order to comply with the State requirement to complete Gifted Scope and Sequence. Dr. David Peterson, assistant superintendent for operations, provided the Board with a current update on the development of the District’s FY07-08 budget. The discussion included input from the Governing Board regarding programs and items that need to be added or considered for this fiscal year. Kim Clark, general counsel, discussed the recommendations for revisions to Policy CBI-Evaluation of the Superintendent. The revision changes the scheduling of the goal setting, progress report and final evaluation of the Superintendent by the Governing Board.
