Scottsdale Unified School District Arizona’s Most Excelling School District!

Dr. Althe Allen, executive director of middle & high schools and excelling teaching and learning, and Dr. Michael Wolf, dean of Copper Ridge Math & Science Academy, presented an update regarding Copper Ridge Math & Science Academy to the Governing Board. During the update, they discussed enrollment strategies for the 2007-2008 school year and will continue to provide current budget information, future staffing and program/course offerings to the Board. In other action, the Board:

• Appointed Dr. Eric Meyer as a delegate and Dieter Schaefer as an alternative to the 2008 ASBA delegate assembly on June 23 at the Wyndham Buttes Resort.
   
• Tabled the Technology Use Policy until the April 17th meeting.
   
• Approved the annual renewal of Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with EVIT.
   
• Accepted gifts valued at 29,754. The gifts were received from Aztec Community Team, Desert Mountain Wrestling Club, Hopi PTA, Saguaro parents, Charro Don Chiappetti, City of Scottsdale, Kiwanis Club of Scottsdale Airpark, Dr. Mary Levine, Robert Mason, Oasis Institute, Charles Pryor, Ellen Versen and Wells Fargo Foundation.

The next two Governing Board meetings are Work/Study Meetings and are scheduled for 5 p.m. on April 4th at the Education Center and 5 p.m. on April 10th at the ASU Decision Theater. The next regular Governing Board meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on April 17th at the Education Center. Pubic Discussions on initiatives the Board is considering on overrides are scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. The dates and locations for the five meetings are:
