MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE GOVERNING BOARD

SCOTTSDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 48

June 24, 2003

A Special Meeting of the Governing Board of the Scottsdale Unified School District, #48, Maricopa County, was called to order at 6:35 PM, at the Scottsdale School District Education Center Board Room, 3811 North 44^th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

Board Members in attendance were Shari Avianantos, President; Karen Beckvar; Joel S. Feldman; and Christine M. Schild. Sandra Zapien-Ferrero arrived at 6:50 PM. Superintendent Barbara F. Erwin, and Associate Superintendent Don Jefferies were also present. A quorum was present.

Mrs. Schild moved to convene in Executive Session for:

A. Discussion or consideration with the attorneys for the District, of employment, assignment, or dismissal of employee, Jerry McDonald, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(1) and (3). (The employee has been notified in writing in accordance with this statutory provision.)

B. Discussion or consideration with the attorneys for the District, of employment, assignment, or dismissal of employee, Donald Biszantz, pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(1) and (3). (The employee has been notified in writing in accordance with this statutory provision.)

Ms. Beckvar seconded the motion.

The motion was approved with a vote of 4 – 0 (Mrs. Zapien-Ferrero had not yet arrived at the meeting).

At 7:03 the Special Meeting reconvened.

At 7:04 PM, Mrs. Schild moved to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Beckvar seconded the motion.

The motion was approved with a vote of 5 – 0.
