MASTER PLANNING PROCESS
Objective #1 of the Total Community Process (TCP)
Final Report, dated Feb. 14, 2001, recommended that the District
develop a districtwide facility plan to address growth and program
equity. The Governing Board appointed members to a Community Action
Committee (CAC) to participate with District staff in the development
of a long-range strategic plan. A school facility consultant, DeJong
& Associates, was hired to develop a facility master plan. DeJong
has worked with District staff, the CAC, the city, and the community
at large, to identify facility priorities and to develop options
to address needs. The master planning process included an on-site
evaluation of the educational adequacy of each school facility,
updating student enrollment projections and school capacities, the
evaluation of historical information and relevant data, and community
dialogues.
DeJong & Associates presented their report
and recommendations based on the culmination of the facility master
planning process during the Governing Board's work/study meeting
on May 7, 2002. That information is contained in the links below.
