Please
read the information below to see what all SUSD employees holding a valid
Elementary, Secondary, Principal, Superintendent, Supervisor, Career and
Technical, and Special Education Arizona State Certificate need to do in order
to meet the new
Arizona
state
requirements for a Provisional SEI Endorsement, by 8/31/06.
Please read carefully to find which one of these bulleted items describes
your status.
c
If
you have had no SDAIE/SEI training,
you need to take a 15-hour course provided by SUSD OR one state-approved
SEI college credit to obtain a Provisional SEI Endorsement by the 8/31/06
Arizona State Department of Education deadline.

If
you have taken the SUSD 10-hour SDAIE I workshop,
you need to take the new SUSD 5-hour Standards and Assessment class provided by
SUSD to obtain a Provisional SEI Endorsement by the 8/31/06 Arizona State
Department of Education deadline.

If
you have taken both SUSD SDAIE I & SDAIE II (20 hours total),
you need to take the new SUSD 2-hour ELL Assessment class to obtain a
Provisional SEI Endorsement by the 8/31/06 Arizona State Department of Education
deadline.

If
you have taken SUSD SDAIE I, SDAIE II and SDAIE III (30 total hours),
you need to take the new SUSD 2-hour ELL Assessment class to obtain a
Provisional SEI Endorsement by the 8/31/06 Arizona State Department of Education
deadline.

c If you have an ESL/BLE Provisional Endorsement OR have taken college coursework toward an ESL/BLE Endorsement, you need to complete the coursework for your full ESL/BLE Endorsement OR take the SUSD 15-hour SEI I class to meet the 8/31/06 Arizona State Department of Education deadline. Depending on your Provisional coursework, you MAY be exempt from some of the 15 hours of SEI. Contact Lisa Zirbel (484-5054) or Angie Hiemstra (484-5276) for more details.

c If you have taken the new SUSD SDAIE/SEI I workshop (15 hours) OR SUSD’s SDAIE I (10 hours) plus the new SUSD Standards and Assessment workshop (5 hours), you do not need to take any coursework to meet the 8/31/06 deadline. However, you are welcome to take any complete series of EIS Program workshops for your continued education and professional development.
