We are now offering a FOSS overview. This is the first hour of Science workshops and will enable you to attend the future workshops for only 2 of the 3 hours. If you have taken any science training last year or this year, you are exempt from this overview. If you have not attended any science training, you will need to attend this training and then your specific kit trainings. We will offer this training the first Thursday of every month.
Middle School workshops are 8 am-3 pm

Arizona Science Center Workshops
Workshop Name |
Workshop Description |
Date(s) |
| The Science of Climate Change - all Educators welcome |
Tuition: $20
You many have heard the saying: "Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get." Facing uncertain climate change in the wake of global warming, what can the world expect? Climate is more than an average temperature; the complex interplay between natural and human-related influences, and their interactions together create our climate. All life on Earth depends upon certain conditions to survive, making it essential that we understand the basic physical processes controlling our climate system. In this workshop we will cover the basics of how the climate system works, climate change in geologic time, recorded history, and the more recent past; what we don't know about the climate system. Participants earn two hours of professional development. Presented in partnership with the Arizona State Climate Office.
The March 22 workshop is held on the Center's Solar Day Family Event. Following the workshop, please stay and explore the Center's more than 300 hands-on exhibits and gallery presentations, and visit a variety of exhibitors. |
