The eighth grade promotion will take place on

Tuesday, May 27,

between 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the DCMS gym.

The eighth grade Celebration/Beach Bash will also be held on

Tuesday, May 27, between 6:30 - 9:00 pm.

All incoming 6th graders are invited to attend an Ice Cream Social, Thursday, May 22, 3:30 - 4:00 pm. in the cafeteria. Come enjoy the fun and meet the 6th grade teachers! A big thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this event. Please see attached flyer with permission slip. Ice Cream Social

Bari Watnick, autism teacher, at Desert Canyon Middle School networked with other DCMS teachers to construct a project that would increase autism awareness.  Ms. Watnick distributed 10”X 10” blank jigsaw puzzle pieces and asked the student body to personally design the pieces using the theme “How you can be friends with someone with autism.” The center of each puzzle piece includes the photographs of various DCMS students to demonstrate the fact that you can’t identify a child with autism.

The completed pieces have been connected to spell “FRIENDS” and are currently displayed on campus for all to see. It’s Ms. Watnick’s firm belief that by working together, we will find the missing pieces and complete the puzzle to become one.
