The 6th graders of Tonalea held their first Family Science Night on Friday, November 21st. Families learned all about the human body, its systems, organs and their functions as they participated in interactive experiments. Congrats to the 6th graders for a successful night!

Principal Lesa Friend announced Monday afternoon the Charros nominees for staff members of the year! Michelle Piazza, nominated for Certified Staff Member of the Year, is an EIS Resource Specialist, Michelle Mendes, nominated for Classified Staff Member of the Year, is an Instructional Assistant in the Kindergarten classrooms, and Rob Wagner, nominated for Volunteer of the Year, is a community member that serves on various committees at Tonalea. Aside from their designated responsibilities the nominees put forth their love, energy, and support throughout Tonalea Elementary and our community!

Tonalea students had the pleasure of enjoying an Author visit from Conrad Storad! Mr. Storad wrote such books as Scorpions, The Circulatory System and Head Over Heels About Arizona. Tonalea students ooooh'd and ahhhh'd as Mr. Storad brought out his life-size scorpion to show the students just how big scorptions can get! Thank you to Mrs. Pasquel, our Tonalea Librarian, for planning such a celebrity event!

Students who attended the First Quarter Super Citizen Dance had a blast! We hope to see the same students and even more students at the next Super Citizen Event! 

Thank you to Miss Goodman and DJ E (Mr. E) for planning such a fun event! Also, a huge thanks goes to our PTA for providing treats for students who attended!
