Navajo will become a STEM focus school (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics),

In October of 2007, Navajo’s Site Council directed Mr. Holmes to establish an Exploratory Committee to explore and develop a proposal to transform Navajo Elementary School to Navajo Science, Mathematics, and Technology Academy.  The work of this committee is now complete, and the Navajo Site Council has approved a vision and an action plan.  Further, Site Council has directed Mr. Holmes to change the Exploratory Committee to a Transformation Committee, with the purpose of executing the action plan.  Mr. Holmes has formally surveyed the parent community.  About 98% of respondents indicate that the school should undergo this transformation.  Mr. Holmes has formally presented to the SUSD Learning Leadership Team, and has received their full support.  Mr. Holmes is now in the process of scheduling to formally present to the SUSD Governing Board.  Please click on the link below to view the complete action plan for the transformation.

¡ Navajo va a transformer en una escuela del foco CTIM (Ciencia, Tecnologia, Ingenieria, y Matematicas)!

En octubre del 2007, el Consejo Local de Navajo, le pidió al Sr. Holmes, que establezca un comité con el objeto de explorar y desarrollar un plan para convertir a la Escuela Primaria Navajo en un Comité de Ciencias, Matemáticas y Tecnología.  El comité ha concluido su estudio, y el Consejo Local de la escuela aprobó la visión y el plan de acción por ellos creado.  Además, el Consejo Local le ha pedido al Sr. Holmes que cambie el título del Comité de Exploración a Comité de Transformación, para así llevar a cabo el plan de acción.  El Sr. Holmes ha enviado una encuesta formal a los padres de familia. La mayoría ha respondido estar de acuerdo con esta transformación.  El Sr. Holmes ha presentado formalmente el plan al Equipo de Liderazgo del Distrito (SUSD) y ha recibido su apoyo total, ahora, el Sr. Holmes presentará el plan a la Mesa Directiva del Distrito (SUSD).  Para una visión completa del plan de acción para la transformación, por favor presione en el enlace electrónico de la parte inferior.
