The Scottsdale Unified School District, like
the city of Scottsdale, was founded in 1896 by Major Winfield Scott.
It opened its first dedicated school, the Little Red Schoolhouse,
in 1909, with all 14 students studying in two classrooms.
The first superintendent, L.O. DuRoss, took office
in 1922 and served for seven years. Below is the list of dedicated
leaders who have served as superintendent of the Scottsdale district
since 1922.
