a la Educación"
El Acta de Asistencia a los Estudiantes Sin Hogar
Stewart B. McKinney-Vento protege los derechos de los estudiantes
sin hogar. El Acta describe a un estudiante sin hogar a quien:
- Vive en un automóvil, parque u de otra forma inferior
al nivel medio
- Vive en un albergue
- Vive con otras familias debido a problemas económicos
- Vive con otras personas debido a la muerte o encarcelación
de un padre
- Vive como joven por sus propios medios debido al abandono o
fuga del hogar
Los estudiantes clasificados como sin hogar/transitorios,
de acuerdo con el Acta de Asistencia a los Estudiantes Sin Hogar
de Stewart B. McKinney-Vento, participan en este programa. Los estudiantes
son identificados por la Coordinadora del Desarrollo de la Juventud a través
de recomendaciones hechas por empleados del Distrito, miembros de
la comunidad, empleados de agencias municipales o peticiones de
los mismos estudiantes. La Coordinadora del Desarrollo de la Juventud ayuda
a matricular inmediatamente a estos estudiantes en la escuela, identificando
y proporcionando ayuda para cumplir con sus necesidades académicas
y no académicas, y asegurar que se eliminen las barreras
para la educación.
