SPAR Resubmit Writers (Revised 6.2008)

On December 1, 2005 a memo was sent directly to all teachers who are eligible to write a SPAR Resubmit to make sure they are aware of the changes, as well as the consequences if the directions for SPAR Resubmit are not followed.

•  All SPAR Resubmits must use the current Resubmit template. Note that the questions and prompts are entirely different from the SPAR Original.

•  Please be advised that SPAR Resubmits submitted in the old format will not be accepted. The new scoring instrument (SPI-Resubmit) does not match that format, and thus it would be impossible to score these SPARs.

•  The SPAR Resubmit format is in the SPAR section of the Career Ladder notebook, pages 9-10. The SPAR Resubmit template, SPAR Resubmit Checklist, and SPAR Resubmit Guidelines are all available online.*

•  Principals who signed off on the SPAR Preapproval Checklist for Part I are not responsible for determining if the current format for a SPAR Resubmit was used. Do not assume that the principal's approval is valid reason that a SPAR submitted in the incorrect format is acceptable. This is the teacher's responsibility.

•  All SPAR Resubmits must be accompanied with the entire SPAR Original.

•  You are strongly encouraged to attend one of the remaining SPAR Resubmit Workshop.
