Karen was first elected to the Board in 2002 and reelected in 2006. Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and her Masters in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. She has business experience as a programmer, user support analyst, and as an operational auditor. She also has taught programming and management classes at the college level and worked as a substitute teacher in the Scottsdale Unified School District. Her volunteer activities include serving on PTO boards at four schools, five years on Scottsdale Parent Council, site councils at two schools, executive board of Arcadia Pride, and more than ten years in scouting leadership. Currently she works in leadership development at the AZ School Boards Association. Karen is married and has two sons.
