Dr. David Peterson, assistant superintendent of Operations, presented a master facility plan to the Governing Board. District staff has been working on the SUSD master facility plan during the past year. Every school facility has been assessed and each building system has been inspected. Based upon this work, recommendations for each campus have been developed regarding campus facilities. The recommendations were then compared with the revised school consolidation work that was led by Dr. Baracy through the Superintendent’s Blue Ribbon Advisory Council. The result of the overlay helped determine the final plan document. The presentation is available on the District’s Web site at: http://www.susd.org/district/govboard/meetings.cfm. Superintendent Dr. John M. Baracy gave the Board an update regarding the revised plan for facility consolidation. On May 20 at a Special Governing Board meeting at Chaparral High School, the Board directed the Administration to bring to the Board a plan for facility consolidation based on the criteria the Board established on May 20th.
