A Special Meeting of the Governing Board of the Scottsdale Unified School District, #48, Maricopa County, was called to order at 9:12 AM, at the Scottsdale School District Education Center Board Room, 3811 North 44th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

Board Members in attendance were Thomas C. Carey; Barbara A. Newby; and Kristy Ryan. President Zapien-Ferrero and Michael Girand, Clerk, were not present. Superintendent Barbara F. Erwin, and Compliance Attorney Jack LaSota were also present. A quorum was present. In the absence of both the President and Clerk of the Board, Mr. Carey presided over the meeting.

Mrs. Newby moved to approve the Agenda. Mrs. Ryan seconded the motion.

The motion was approved with a vote of 3 — 0.

Dr. Erwin introduced Dr. Paul Trautman, the District’s Consultant for Support Services, who gave a Power Point presentation on Facilities. Discussion ensued among Board Members and the Administration on the scope of work needed to be done. Mr. Carey commented that this Board and the Superintendent are focused on planning, on improvement, and on moving forward.

At 10:08 AM, the meeting adjourned. Mr. Carey and Mrs. Newby joined Dr. Erwin, Dr. Trautman, and other members of the Administration for a tour of five sites selected by Dr. Trautman as part of a tour of facilities. Mrs. Ryan left the meeting and did not go on the tour; a quorum was no longer present.
