SPAR Part I - Original and Resubmit Informational Session for Completing the Planning
Component of the Student Progress Assessment Report

This workshop will provide an overview of the requirements for PART I of the Career Ladder SPAR.* Discussion/Instruction about the SPAR document, descriptors, requirements, and formatting expectations will be included. The workshop will also include SPAR readers' perspectives. Bring your Career Ladder notebook. Samples from the SPAR Library will be on hand to review after the workshop. *Pre-Approval date for submission of the SPAR - Part I to principals is October 1, 2008.

This workshop will provide an overview of the entire Career Ladder SPAR document, descriptor discussions, requirements, and formatting expectations. The workshop will also include a SPAR reader's perspective. Bring your Career Ladder notebook. Samples from the SPAR Library will be on hand to review after the workshop. SPAR - Resubmit Workshop: Resubmission of previous SPAR area of focus

This workshop will provide an overview of the new SPAR-Resubmit format and requirements. Teachers considering resubmitting the area of focus from their 2008-09 SPAR are highly encouraged to attend one of these sessions. Bring your Career Ladder notebook. SPAR Original and Resubmit Reference Library

Career Ladder teachers are invited to stop by the MDA Career Ladder Office at the following times to review Student Progress Assessment Reports written by participants from previous years. SPARs may not be checked out, but notes may be taken. These SPARs reflect the required format for 2008-09. Registration is not required.

CLI Workshops - Teaching Performance Observations with Peer Evaluators

The primary focus of the CLI workshop is to clarify the classroom observation process. This workshop will address specific descriptors of the Career Ladder Instrument and explain the scoring gradient. All new Career Ladder participants and others with questions are encouraged to attend. Be sure to bring you Career Ladder notebook. 2009-10 Career Ladder Application

Application to participate in Career Ladder for 2009-10 school year.

Teachers hired prior to the 2003-04 school year who are NOT currently participating may apply to join Career Ladder for 2009-10 school year. Download and complete the above application and email it to Nancy Creighton Brown.

Application deadline is May 27th, 2009.
