Chick-Fil-A All new students to Aztec (preschool, PANDA, kindergarten, and new students from other grade levels) are invited to Chick-Fil-A at Raintree and the 101 on Thursday, August 7th from 4:00-6:30 PM to meet current students and their parents to answer questions you may have. Current students and staff are encouraged to wear Aztec shirts. Chick-Fil-A will donate 20% of all food proceeds during that time to Aztec. Please join us! We look forward to meeting you! Go Aztec! Open House Parents and students are invited to attend Open House at Aztec Elementary on Friday, August 8th. Please stop by the school anytime between 5:00-7:00 PM to meet your child’s teacher and to see the classroom. Students can bring supplies that they would like to keep in the classroom and will be able to pick up information forms that typically go home with the students on the first day of school. When you arrive, please report to the cafeteria and members of the PTO will help to verify your child’s teacher and room number. The first day of school is Monday, August 11th, so this is a great time for you to become familiar with the classroom and teacher before the school year begins! BREAKFAST is served daily in the Aztec Cafetorium! Aztec Elementary Our school began as an effort by educators to create a school truly designed with current brain research on how children learn best, a 21st Century School. Our goal is to produce creative thinkers needed today and tomorrow. Teachers at Aztec are extensively trained in not only the traditional methods but also in Brain Compatible Learning and Highly Effective Teaching through The Center for Effective Learning. Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills serve as the behavior guideline in our classrooms. Our campus was specially designed with lot of open spaces and windows in each classroom to provide natural light. SUSD Community Schools Pre-K Programs Are Growing! For the 2008-09 school year, new classrooms for three-year-olds will be offered at Copper Ridge, Aztec and Cherokee Elementary Schools. Copper Ridge now has four Pre-K classrooms planned for the fall! In addition, the Kids Club and Early Birds programs will also enroll three-year-old children next year. The Pre-K and Kids Club programs will partner to provide a familiar and safe environment for the three-year-old students.
